Our brief was to develop the wayfinding and signing scheme, using the developed brand and the Kindersley typeface bequeathed to Cambridge by typographer David Kindersley.
Our brief was to develop the wayfinding and signing scheme, using the developed brand and the Kindersley typeface bequeathed to Cambridge by typographer David Kindersley.
We resolved the wayfinding complexities, designed the conceptual scheme – both product and graphic – and took that through the approvals process with the stakeholder team and the local authority. The solution itself takes elements from the brand and commissioned art in its use of the Fibonacci sequence and bronze materials.
The solution has been widely praised for not only its design, but also the very high quality finish of the installed product. The centre has established itself as a leader in the affluent area, attracting high end retailers to entice wealthy shoppers. Bouncing back from the economic downturn, Grand Arcade has recently announced it is now 100% let.
