Brief

Located in the Levent business district of Istanbul, Kanyon is a stylish yet highly complex mixed-use destination comprising of 160 shops, a 33 floor office tower and a 22 floor residential block with parking for 2,300 vehicles. A premium tenant mix which includes the likes of Harvey Nichols, together with the impressive dining offer, cinema and busy events calendar means Kanyon draws crowds day and night. Air was tasked with designing an elegant, contemporary signage system, to complement the sleek, ‘canyonesque’ architecture and vibrant customer base.

Adding a touch of glass to the wayfinding at Istanbul’s favourite destination

Solution

Truthful, natural materials of real stone and glass were chosen rather than acrylic and composite alternatives, to create a sustainable, elegant and highly original system. Interactive digital screens were integrated into the signage, with tech from Dreambox, providing comprehensive and flexible information delivery.

Result

Kanyon’s new signage improves the customer journey at all levels, from the exterior approach, the simplifying of a previously complex 6 level subterranean car park, to the internal wayfinding which intuitively promotes anchor tenants and key facilities.
