Silesia City Centre is a popular shopping destination in Katowice, Poland. Following an extension, we were asked to develop a new signage system that would bring the space together and make it easy for visitors to navigate.
We looked at the mall, car park and environmental graphics, using zoning techniques to break up this large building. As the centre is built on an old mine, we took inspiration from minerals and rocks, incorporating jagged-looking finishes in the product design and environmental graphics.
Our solution has brought visual coherence to the centre, making navigation much easier for visitors whilst simultaneously brightening up the space. Since the extension opened in late 2011, footfall has increased by 20% and the average rent across the entire scheme has increased by 9%.
