Air have recently been appointed to review the wayfinding strategy for the car parks at the newest Westfield mall, adjacent to the Olympic Park in Stratford, east London.
By zoning the 3 car parks, 13 decks and 5000 spaces we are developing a ‘best for’ solution that considers the various destinations within the mall and communicates the information to visitors. So
for example, car park A is best for access to John Lewis and Waitrose. As well as retail tenants, entertainment facilities are included such as the mall cinema, bowling and food court.
This customer-led strategy extends to traffic signage, aisle reminders and wall graphics to aid the visitor’s journey to and from their car. This perspective is essential in car parks of this size, and it also sets the tone for the wayfinding within the mall.
After completing a successful prototype in car park B, we are currently rolling out the solution across the three car parks, ready for installation after the Olympic period.
