Operators in the retail industry are increasingly embracing the trend for F&B, with spaces dedicated to restaurants and food courts doubling from 7% to 15% in 2019 and an expected rise to 20% in 2020 to meet growing customer demand.

Ex-retail units and un-colonised areas of malls have been transformed on a global scale into competitive F&B outlets.

To keep things interesting, shopping centres must continue to keep abreast of new, untraditional and diverse trends in food culture to reflect their ever-more-diverse range of consumers.
