The Art of Sophistication: Branding for Galeria Shopping Mall

Sophisticated, Contemporary, and Elegant – the key words used to define Galeria, the no.1 retail-entertainment complex located in the heart of St. Petersburg, Russia. Having been bought out by Morgan Stanley in 2012, Air Design was appointed to reposition the brand identity and develop the brand guidelines for Galeria to ensure it epitomises modern experiences, fashion-forward trends, and stylish living.

The 192,000 sq m retail-entertainment complex includes over 250 shops, a hypermarket, 5 department stores, a multi-screen cinema, a fitness centre, and bowling and entertainment facilities for a diverse experience that is more than just shopping.

The logo we designed for the Galeria was made from an elegant amalgamation of the Roman and Cyrillic versions of the letter G to create a modern yet timeless visual identity which aligned with the Galeria’s aspirational and stylish brand position…to this day this is still one of our favourite logos designs. As well as the fresh identity we designed, we provided brand guidelines to help carry out future brand and design initiatives.

Following the contemporary brand development of Galeria, Morgan and Stanley then appointed us in 2014 to develop the branding for Metropolis which is probably Moscow’s most popular shopping destination today!
